Worship Ministry

The Worship Ministry of Pavo Baptist Church exists to provide our people with avenues of service to bring glory to the Lord through music, skits and other creative arts. O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. – Psalm 95:1

In John 4, Jesus tells us that the Father is looking for people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. We worship in truth by worshiping the one true God as He has demonstrated Himself in Scripture. We worship in spirit by praising the One who has saved our souls, and we cannot help but offer our lives in thanks and appreciation for who He is and what He has done.

Worship at Pavo will not be defined by styles of music. God is the author and audience of our worship. We will worship Him using ancient hymn texts and contemporary songs as well. Worship should never be defined by what we want it to be. Rather, it should be defined by what God wants it to be. Therefore, the worship at Pavo Baptist strives to be God-honoring (Romans 12:1-2) and Christ-exalting (Revelation 5:12). Worship will be celebrative and reflective. It will be introspective and responsive.

Worship is not defined by what happens on Sunday morning or Sunday night. Worship begins in the heart of every believer as they live their lives as a sacrifice to the One who gives them life. Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord.

Worship Choir:

This group is the main area of service for people to lead in worship. It is non-auditioned and open to all members of Pavo Baptist Church. They lead every Sunday morning for worship using a variety of song styles. They sing everything from Christian Southern Gospel to upbeat Christian Contemporary songs. As well as leading every Sunday, the Worship Choir also presents special presentations throughout the year. They also gather with other Baptist Church Choirs in the Pavo area to present community cantatas. If you are looking to get involved with the worship ministry of Pavo Baptist Church, then this is the place to start. The Worship Choir meets Sunday’s Afternoons from 5:30 – 6:15 pm all year long in the choir loft of the church sanctuary. Our Choir is led by Miss. Ladie James.

Worship Media:

The Worship Ministry at Pavo Baptist Church uses prerecorded worship music, top notch sound equipment, relevant videos and PowerPoint media to spread the message of Jesus Christ every week. Our services are also recorded by the Media Team for airing online. We strive for excellence in every area of our service in an effort to eliminate all possible distractions that could hinder the worship experience. In accordance with 1 Corinthians 4: 1-2, we see this as being “good stewards” of the message that God has entrusted us with to share with the world. This message is that there is hope and salvation for the lost through Jesus Christ! Not only do we strive for excellence in all of our services here at Pavo Baptist, we also strive for excellence in our individual walks with the Lord. A person must be a WORSHIPER before they can be a worship leader. We are dedicated followers of Christ who use our gifts as nothing more than a tool to focus the hearts of our listeners on God, teach them about His character, and deliver the life changing message of the Gospel.

Students in Worship:Pastor's Pals

At Pavo Baptist Church, we find that multigenerational worship is a joy for our church family.  We believe that parents and children should worship together so that children will be taught by their parents and other worshippers how to participate in worship.  Our Pastor even has a special time each Sunday Morning called “Pastor’s Pals” when he calls all students to the altar for a special time with the Pastor.  A nursery is provided for all babies (birth to three years) and their mothers if needed.
